Ogun State police have sent strong warning to Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel) Bishop David Oyedepo about his intention to reopen his church.

In a viral video, Bishop Oyedepo said that he had declared churches free, adding that nobody would die against the reopening of churches.

The Living Faith Church at Oyedepo is headquartered in Ota, Ogun State’s Ado-Odo / Ota Local Government region.

The police said they have information in a veiled reference to Oyedepo that some religious leaders in Ogun are planning to open their religious centres for people to converge.

This was said by the police to be totally disobedient to both the state and the federal authorities.A statement by the state police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, called on these religious leaders to change their heart, saying “Security agencies in the state will treat the opening of worship centers with all seriousness.” Oyeyemi said the police would not accept any act that could weaken the state and federal government’s determination to combat Coronavirus at a total disobedience to the Orders of the federal and state governments. “The command hereby appeals to all religious leaders of both Islamic and Christian faith who may have such an intention to change their minds as they will be treated with all seriousness by the State security agencies. “The command will not tolerate any act capable of undermining the state and federal government’s determination to stand still to combat the COVID 19 pandemic. “Therefore the police commissioner wishes to use this opportunity to inform all religious leaders that the ban on all types of meeting is still in force; whether social or religious.
